Crown Lengthening

There are different types of crown lengthening procedures. One type is for the patient with the “gummy” smile. When someone smiles their teeth look short and excess gum tissue shows. Dr. Renner, Dr. Stanczyk or Dr. Bushong can re-contour the excess gum and reshape the bone to expose more of your natural tooth. This can make a dramatic difference in a person’s smile.

A second need for crown lengthening occurs when a tooth is fractured or decay has advanced in a manner that makes restoring the tooth difficult for your general dentist. Dr. Renner, Dr. Stanczyk or Dr. Bushong will reshape the bone and tissue allowing the tooth that is so broken down to be restored by exposing more of the tooth so a filling, crown or bridge can be placed.
